The SABC has decided not to renew their contract with Southern Streams/People of the South after research showed that the programme's viewership had dropped significantly over the past six months. Dali Thambo, son of Oliver Thambo, hosted close to 420 episodes, interviewing many eminent people, such as Nelson Mandela, Miriam Makeba, Yasser Arafat, Will Smith and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
